Similar process for Mixed In Key, but it does not always load the track into the app to be scanned. In the case of MP3Gain the track loads in MP3, I then run the gain setting process and quit the app then I can reanalyze it in traktor and Voila, correctly set gain for Traktor. So far I have been able to get MP3Gain and MIK to work but both require you to perform an action inside that app to complete the process. I have been able to select a track in the Browser and get an external app to do some work on it.

Something new: I worked out how to do this with a bit of applescript and cleverness. Unless you change its value when you grab it it doesn't jump so an touch screen knob needs the ability to follow that analog.įor me I'm certain that until we have fader and rotary controls that do behave like their physical analog, Touch will never become more than an interesting mode of control.

make no mistake there is no substitute for grabbing a knob and turning it.

my Mac / iPad coding skills don't allow me to try this on the iPad but on a touchsmart monitor it works great. and when implemented on a knob works marvellously well. The gesture is completely analogous to a mouse scrollwheel. The control would completely ignore absolute positioning and only produces relative messages. Rather than draggging up and down on the fader or around on the knob simply swipe up and down or left to right over the control surface and the value will increse or decrease correspondingly. Where you put your finger your finger down on a knob of fader the position & value jumps correspondingly leading you to some errors in operation.Ī proposed solution Make the knobs input relative. They just like Faders have a fundamental problem that cannot be solved with the current absolute mode of operation. Its not that they are bad or anything but if you create knobs smaller than about 110 pixels square then you are going to see fairly high error rates due to the fact your finger obscures the indicator, same kind of problem for faders to BTW. I have developed an unhealthy dislike for the knob controls in TOUCHOSC.
